The Sceletus Venator II Long Sleeve shirt is the second edition of our famous short sleeve T we introduced earlier this year featuring the first line of Ernest Hemingway's famous quote from his short story, "On Blue Water",  first published in Esquire Magazine: "There is no hunting like the hunting of man..."

The long sleeve second edition, just it time for winter, has the second line on the back: "...and those who have hunted armed men, long enough, and liked it, never really care for anything else thereafter."

Though often viewed as ambiguous and sometimes contentious, this quote is iconic and does strike a cord with those who have been there. Hunting armed subjects with tracking dogs is one of the most dangerous forms of K9 work there is. Nothing compares to it. Every handler who has done this understands the gravity of a high risk track. We willingly plunge into harms way relying only on training and the instincts of our dog to complete the mission and to stay alive. Do this long enough and everything else becomes pale in comparison. 'Tis not the thirst for blood that drives the manhunter. It is the unrivaled intensity and focus that can only come from this business. It is important to keep this fact in mind when hunting man: Even though the good guys might hold the advantage in assets and numbers, the bad guys are using the same senses and instincts to beat you. The adrenalin that enables you, the hunter, to do what hunters do, also enables the hunted with the chance to get away, and also to possibly turn the tables on the hunter. The hunter can become the hunted in a blink of an eye. During the high stakes game of manhunting, small mistakes can become unacceptable tragedies. Don’t become a tragedy.

Historically, we have relied on the United States Postal Service for the bulk of our orders. However, we have received numerous complaints about poor tracking ability with USPS and delayed shipments overseas in particular. Based on our experience to date, UPS is very reliable in all levels of tracking parcels and very responsive with inquiries. This cannot be said with USPS which seems to have a very non-responsive customer service department when following up on packages and the tracking system is not up to date. That being said, USPS priority mail parcels are super fast and reliable in the continental United States. They are also the least expensive. However, when sending packages overseas, USPS reliability falls off significantly and the tracking system has proven to be less than helpful. The choice is yours and we only want to make sure that you are happy with your orders. We understand that timely delivery is part of that satisfaction process. We recommend United Parcel Service shipping for all international orders. The cost is approximately 7% more but the security and timely delivery may be worth it.
